Frequently Asked Questions
-
Three formats are available: a pre-baptism portrait session in the studio (often with baptism gown and family), day-of event coverage at the church and reception, or a combined package covering both. Many families choose the combined format for the strongest final portraits.
-
Yes. The studio photographs the full service — arrival, ceremony, family portraits at the altar if permitted, and candids — and coordinates with the officiant in advance regarding the church’s photography policy.
-
The studio portrait is strongly recommended. Day-of coverage captures the event and the family in context; the studio session is where the formal portrait of the child in the baptism gown is made. Together they form a complete record.
-
Traditional baptism gowns — family heirloom or new — photograph beautifully in the studio’s editorial lighting. Parents, godparents, and siblings coordinate around a neutral palette so the child remains the focus. Wardrobe is discussed in the pre-session consultation.
-
Most families book baptism coverage two to three months in advance. Booking earlier secures the preferred date and leaves time for a pre-baptism portrait session.
