Newborn Session Frequently asked questions
Q. When should I book my Newborn Session?
A. To ensure availability we recommended booking during your 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy and we will schedule you one week after your due date. These dates are tentative due to early and late arriving newborns so we make sure to leave room in the schedule to accommodate you.
*If you’ve already delivered and did not reserve a spot give us a try as soon as possible we will do our best to try and get you on the calendar.
Q: How long is my session?
A: Newborn Sessions take between 2-3 hours and are scheduled in the mornings when they are the sleepiest.
Q: Do you supply props?
A: We love using organic natural elements, vintage pieces and rustic props. We offer our clients a variety of backdrops and prop options including wraps, hats, headbands, baskets, crates and buckets.
Q: What should we wear?
A. Simple solid colors photograph best. Neutral colors such as white, creams, grays and all pastels. For a more dramatic look all black. Avoid logos or busy patterns.
Q: Can family be included in the session?
A. Parents and siblings are always welcomed into the session for a few photos.
MATERNITY
Q: When do I book my session?
A: I recommend scheduling your session between 30-35 weeks. You can contact me to book as far in advance as you’d like.
Q: Where should our session take place?
Studio Sessions
Indoor studio sessions are often scheduled in the morning when the light is still soft or later in the day
Outdoor sessions
Outdoor sessions take place 2 hours before sunset (golden hour) . Golden light is soft, warm and dimensional.that dreamy,

Q: Who will be included in the session?
Your husband or significant other and other children are welcome to be included in the photographs at no additional cost.

We offer a few maternity gowns as well as fabrics to wrap you in.
You may want to bring along a sonogram picture and other special items, such as booties or blocks with your child's name.

Q: When should I book my session?
It’s important to book your baby’s session 2 months in advance if you plan to use the images for a party.

A: We provide a stunning cake made by one of our talented local bakers to match the theme and decor.

Q: Can the session be outdoors?
A: Most of our sessions are indoors due to the difficulty of cake clean up on location. If you’d like a regular outdoor session without cake inquire about our child or family portraiture sessions.
